Rainy season is bed weather. It makes you stay in bed all day long. Cuddling up in bed with a warm, thick blanket beats being out in the pouring rain hands down. I love listening to rain drops on the roof and watching it slide down from the glass on my window.

When the rain comes, I make sure I stock my kitchen my lots of coffee, cocoa and tea to keep me warm. I also make sure that my best portable generator is in working condition in case there is a power interruption. On rainy nights, I immediately crawl into bed with a hot drink in hand, switch on the TV and watch sappy old movies. At times, I would just slump in the couch with my feet tucked under me and read a good book.

Rainy nights are romantic. It makes me think of wine, roses and cuddling in front of a warm fire. Rainy nights are fun too. When with girl friends, we would spend the night talking, eat junk food, dance crazily and just do whatever we want to do.

How about you? What do you do when it is bed weather? Do you prefer staying at home or going out and braving the rain and wind?

Andy is retiring next month. He is only 50 years old but he wants to stop working to fulfil his lifelong dream of seeing the world and doing extraordinary things. Andy feels that if he will wait until he gets older, he won’t be strong enough to do them.

Seeing the world is part of Andy’s future plans. He plans to go in a European or Asian cruise so he can see numerous countries in just one trip. Andy is also fascinated with India and someday he wishes he could go and immerse in their culture.

Doing extreme sports is one of Andy’s hobbies ever since he was a teenager. Though he has mellowed down a bit, he wants to try bungee jumping and whitewater rafting soon. Andy also wants to try flying a hot air balloon if he gets the opportunity.

Just like any other adult, Andy plans to get married and have kids. He has never been married though he has a son and a daughter with a former flame. Andy wants to know what it feels like to wake up in the morning with someone beside him. He wants to feel unconditionally loved and adored. He, in return, will do his best to whomever he will marry.

…to learn how to sky dive. I am really, really scared of heights and I wish to overcome it by learning how to sky dive. Hopefully, I won’t chicken out the last minute.
…to decorate a cake. Cake decorating seems a lot of fun. You need to get your creative juices flowing or else the cake will look blah, regardless of the taste.
…to see Japan. I had been on a flight which did a stopover in Japan once. I was awed by their culture, fashion and sake. I really want to go back and see the country.
…to know what it feels like to be a superstar. Being a celebrity is not a dream of mine. Though being rich and popular doesn’t hurt, being constantly followed by the paparazzi and included in every gossip magazine in the country, or the world, is really annoying.
…to eat blueberry cheesecake, apple pie, and chocolate cake in one sitting. Although I could, I refuse to intake that much calories in one meal.
…to touch a real, live polar bear. Polar bears are ferocious hunters but they are just so cute and fat. I’ve always been fascinated about them, how they can stay warm and why they swim really well.

Cissy just got married to a wonderful man named Arnold and she will do everything for him.

Arnold loves to eat delicious meals and this encouraged Cissy take up various cooking classes. For a month, Cissy has been practicing and experimenting with various ingredients to make her cooking more delicious. Since then she has been cooking wonderful meals for Arnold. She even surprised Arnold with a lovely breakfast in bed consisting of French toast, vegetable and cheese omelette and some blueberry pancake. Dinner that night was Garlicky steak, Caesar salad and tiramisu.

Ice cream is also one of Arnold’s favourite desserts and so Cissy decided to make ice cream for him as well. She bought an ice cream maker and made wonderful vanilla and chocolate ice cream, all of which are Arnold’s favourite.

Cissy has been working so hard in pleasing Arnold and this wasn’t unnoticed by her husband. Arnold was very much touched by all Cissy has done. To thank her, Arnold has given her lots of gifts including jewels, scarves, clothes, and expensive perfumes. Arnold also gave Cissy a brand new convection oven because the old one that they had was just too outdated.
Arnold knew he married a very wonderful woman and she will do anything for Cissy.

I hate general home cleaning. Well, I think only because I’m such as lazy bum. Last year’s general home cleaning still haunts me up to now. I found several dead rats and huge spiders in the attic while rearranging some things. I almost died from fright as well as from the awful smell.

For this year’s general home cleaning, I will be concentrating more in my room. I plan to put up storage for shoes in my closet and over doors; my shoes have been dilemma lately. They have been piling up all over the place. Because of improper storage, they all looked scuffed, dirty and old. My shoes really need to be organized.

I will also replace my bed’s sheets, pillowcases, and skirts. Not to mention the curtains, throw pillows and accent rigs. I want them all to match this time. I also plan to place a few plants inside the room, just to make my room a bit livelier. The Hawaiian lamp in my bedside table needs to go to. It will look really out of place when I put in my new decors and sheets.

Now that I’ve think about it, I don’t hate general home cleaning that much. But it is a tiring, that’s for sure.

Minnie has saved herself some money to buy some new things. She has been doing errands and odd jobs around their neighbourhood. It has been a month and now, Minnie has enough money to buy her dream shoes and dress for their school dance.

After school, Minnie went immediately to the mall to check her dream shoes if it was still available. But before that, she went to the dress store to try on the one she liked. Minnie tried on a beautiful, flowing lilac colored gown that was slightly above the knee in length. It suited her skin tone really well and she looked absolutely ravishing. After Minnie bought the dress, she immediately purchased her shoes. She was so happy when she found out it was discounted.

As soon as Minnie got home, she put on the dress as well as the shoes. She stared at herself in the mirror and she was happy. She was so glad she was able to buy her own shoes and dress without asking her parents for any money. Minnie has even have money left over to buy herself two flat irons for hair. She really wants to look really pretty for the dance and for her date.

Last night, Kyle was home alone for the first time. He just turned twelve and his folks trust him enough to stay out of trouble while they were away for a business dinner.

Kyle was excited about being left alone at home. But he was nervous as well. What if something went wrong? Would he know what to do? Kyle was confident enough that he would be okay until his parents arrive.

Before his parents left, they gave him a list of telephone numbers he can contact in case of an emergency. They also left him a wonderful dinner of macaroni and cheese. Kyle’s mom told him to be in bed by ten since it wasn’t a school night tomorrow.

Kyle was in his room playing video games when he felt hungry. He remembered the macaroni and cheese his mom made for him. Kyle went to the kitchen and turned on the kitchen light. He took out the mac and cheese from the fridge and popped it into the microwave.

An hour later, Kyle was in bed. He had already brushed his teeth and changed into his pajamas. His parents would be so proud of him. He kept his nose clean and out of trouble.

People often come home from work all stressed and tired. In order to feel energized and refreshed for another’s day of honest work, it is important to relax.

Here are some of the things one can do at home to relax and unwind:
-Curling up in bed watching your favourite re-runs while drinking cold beer or wine is often effective in calming the mind and body.
-Outdoor fire places provide a sense of comfort and relaxation especially when one gazes at the stars while enjoying the warmth.
-Soaking in a warm hot bath always helps a person relax. Just don’t stay in the water too long or not just your hands will get wrinkled.
-Some people may be relieved of stress by exercising. Going jogging around the neighbourhood or on a treadmill releases pent-up energy and unwanted calories too.

People have different ways of relieving themselves of stress. It is best to know what works best for you. Some people might unwind by going out and dancing while others engage in sports such as basketball or tennis. It is bad not to release stress for it could lead to illnesses such as high blood pressure, stroke, or even heart attack.

The iconic jeep was born for war. With the war already raging in Europe and America’s entry into the global conflict seeming imminent, the generals wanted a light-weight reconnaissance cross-country vehicle. They got what they wanted. They got the jeep, and went on to win the war.

The end of the war, however, did not mean the end of the jeep. It continued to be a favorite military transport vehicle because of its versatility and power. Indeed, a new model was introduced, the M38 (MC). This was followed by the M38A1 which featured the new rounded fenders. By the mid-60s, the M606 versions were introduced but this model was mainly exported and sold to friendly foreign governments.

During the Vietnam War, a new military vehicle was introduced, the M151 MUTT (Military Utility Tactical Truck). It was designed and initially produced by Ford Motor Company. A later model, the M151A2, was also produced by Kaiser Jeep and AM General Corporation.

In the civilian world, Willys modified the military jeep, incorporating powered wipers, a tailgate, naugahyde seats, and chrome trim. These were called the CJs for civilian jeeps. In 1955, the CJ-5 was launched based on the military M38A1.

Apart from the CJ series, there were also other manufacturers who came up with their own civilian versions of the military jeep, such as Land Rover, Nissan, Toyota, Suzuki, and Mitsubishi.
